Memorial Day isn't just about honoring veterans, its honoring those who lost their lives. Veterans had the fortune of coming home. For us, that's a reminder of when we come home we still have a responsibility to serve. It's a continuation of service that honors our country and those who fell defending it. May 26, 2019

Another week to start with different activities, challenges, and goals! We all rejoice with 8 children from our parish who received their first Communion. That is a great reason to be happy, motivated, and inspired to move on in our lives and believe that God works always in our hearts🙏! I wish you all a blessed week and remember to welcome everyone and pray for our new seminarian Nathan and for all who come and do NOT come to our church!

It really was a spiritual and uplifting experience! May the Lord keep us always united in His love and in the happiness of music!!!
My Dear Friends, On Palm Sunday we began holy week together! Last weekend we remembered that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a humble beast of burden and people spread branches and cloaks on the road to welcome him as king. We exclaim with the disciples and the crowd, “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest heaven!” Thursday, we remember that Jesus gave his followers a new command, a new mandate (hence—“Maundy”): “Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.” John 13:34. Then Jesus humbly washed his disciples’ feet and bids all his followers to humbly serve one another in love. As Jesus ate the Passover meal with his disciples, he was celebrating the Jewish Passover Seder meal of liberation and freedom with his friends. But Jesus gave it new meaning when he took the bread and said, “Take and eat, this is my body.” And then he took the cup of wine and said, “This is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in remembrance of me.” On Good Friday, we remember with sorrow and gratitude that Jesus died on the cross to forgive our sins and the sins of the whole world. Good Friday is often called the Great Day of Atonement: at-one-ment. We were all out of tune with God our Maker, but Jesus, God’s own Son, has made us one again with God through the sacrifice of himself on the cross. Thanks be to God! Having journeyed with Jesus through his suffering and death, we are then ready to fully celebrate the day that changed the whole world forever: the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. My Dearest friends, The Season of Lent begins through the imposition of ashes on our foreheads on Ash Wednesday. The ashes are imprinted on our foreheads with a sign of the Cross. It is meant to remind us of our identity and relationship with God. First, it means we belong to God. We are his children. Second, as narrated by Paul in his Second Letter to the Corinthians, “we are ambassadors for Christ.” We have the responsibility to make Jesus’ presence felt and experienced in this world. Third, given the identity and relationship that we have with God, as His children and ambassadors of His Son, we are constantly called to experience and share mercy and compassion. That is the real meaning of Lent! Happy and holy Lent Fr Juan

There is a Swedish Proverb that says “Those who wish to sing, always find a song.” Sometimes I wonder why the negative thoughts? Why the complain for the weather? Why the judgment and criticism? Don't we have the beauty of the seasons? The gift of faith? the diversity of colors and personalities? Only for today! praying it becomes an habit, we all can find a song to sing and share. “Do whatever he tells you." (John 2:5) Mary speaks these words to the servants with regards to Christ leading up to the miracle at the Wedding Feast at Cana. She intercedes on behalf of the smallest concerns of the hearts of the bride and groom and through this reveals the deeply loving relationship she has with Christ. We see Jesus honor his Mother in thi event, but additionally, we see Mary entrust the situation entirely to her Son after simply stating the fact that there is no more wine. She directs the men to Jesus with complete confidence in the goodness of his Heart and in her relationship with Him, she need not say anything but “do whatever he tells you.”
My dear friends, Last night we learned that sports build good habits, confidence, and discipline. They make players into community leaders and teach them how to strive for a goal, handle mistakes, and cherish growth opportunities. What about us in our lives? Do we strive for the same and learn the same? YES, THE PATRIOTS MADE IT!!! Do we?
